I must admit to being a bit of a Bond fan (then again, who isn't?
). In a recent interview about his new Bond novel, Charlie Higson recalled that he wanted to give the young Bond a watch to wear - and as his latest story By Royal Command is set in 1934, he went for a Mido Multifort, "the first automatic, anti-magnetic, water-proof (up to 100 feet; perfectly sufficient back in those days), and shock resistant watch of its time".Which got me to thinking about the latest Mido Multifort Chronos... does anyone own one, or have any views (or photos?) ? I was looking at one a while ago, very unusual watches. Found this one...
The detailing looks very good and I think that there aren't many around?

The chronograph is a very nice watch with a great dial and handset, cool engraving on the back too... much sought after.
Don't know much about the new ones though... anyone else...? Strangely enough I know Charley Higson, or I did.... a social friend and then I did the title sequence of the 'Fast Show' for them when he and Paul Whitehouse first started out....

Thanks guys.
Been looking at two chronos online. Saw a good review on another forum. The 7750 seems to be well-decorated (as Al mentioned) and they're a decent size. ![]() ![]() Tech specs: "MIDO® 1320 calibre (based on the ETA Valjoux 7750) Ø 131/4’’’ or 30.00 mm, thickness: 7.90 mm, 25 rubies, 28 800 A/H, 165 components, power reserve in excess of 42 hours, INCABLOC and NIVACOURBE shock absorbers, GLUCYDUR balance-wheel, NIVAROX I balance spring, NIVAFLEX NO barrel spring, burnished screws, circular-grained bars, oscillating weight with Côtes de Genève and engraved MIDO® logo." Seems to have the all right components! Will try and get to see these in the flesh (metal?) somewhere... M
