Default Anyone near Suffolk?

I'll be dropping in briefly later this week in the Suffok area and was looking for something fun to do. Thoughts? I've never been...

Erm. Don't spend much time up there - and when I do, it's towards Norwich, I'm afraid. Last time I did anything interesting near Lakenheath / Mildenhall, it was to visit a small zoo (Banham Zoo). Nice enough, but probably not your cup of tea?

There are a few bigger towns nearby - Ely for example? Even Cambridge isn't *too* far...

Hopefully there are some Suffolk-based peeps around to offer better advice?

There's a great pub in Ipswich called the Railway, always good for live rock music on Friday and Saturday night. I'm often there one night at the weekend. For some ancient history Sutton Hoo is worth a visit.
Pete.

Bryan, you joined the AF too late. Mildenhall O'Club was theeee place to be on Friday night, at least back in the early 90s. The aircrew tdy rotation quarters were called the "Morgue" and "Zoo". You can probably figure out why. They were located right next to the club. When I think of that place I get nothing but smiles. Loved the shepherd's pie, pickled onions, hard cider, and of course the very friendly and beautiful English ladies

P.S. That was the first time I ever drank beer out of a cowboy boot. Our squadron cc was a Texan and the first to pass the "boot", and of course our squadron was out of Dyess AFB.

Happy Flying & Enjoy those locations!!

Cheers,

Jerry
