Default Tourneau & Tutima

From the Don't-See-These-Very-Often Department:

Tutima 758-01

Tourneau's version of the military-cased L5100 similar to the Heuer item

An interesting pair those two, though they don't really look like a pair at all.
Al had one of those Tutima's, I have to say I never really gelled with the "60-year-old-watch-made-yesterday" styling. And although accurate (and a good idea) the red paint on the polished coin-edge bezel did look really fragile (which I see in the example you posted), possibly because the paint was applied to a polished surface and had no "key" into the material.

And although I have never seen a Tourneau in the flesh, I am familiar with the PMH alternative, the Lederer, as I had a black one.

Nice watch, I do really like that case design, and the way the proud corners gradually wear out the PVD.

Funny how the Tutima has not really appealed so much to me personally, I'm not the biggest fan of cathedral style hands, and nor the coin edge bezels (is that the term?), but I can see why some people would like it - it is of a style certainly, albeit a bit incongruous with its vintage look and relatively modern movement.

I've vaguely seen the Tourneau on the 'net, like the Pewter Heuer 510.503?

- ha - there you go - Dave's said it all! See what you mean about the red paint too...

I love the Tutima Flieger F3! I got extremely lucky in finding mine for a good price, and this watch has kept growing on me ever since I got it.

On my Tutima F2 the "red dot" was rather an anemailed coat than a paint one and has never suffered of any damage in about 2 years of wear .

Happy Pascal with again an immaculate watch
