Default SO the Bremont S2 ATG SPECIAL

to begin with I am going to start calling it the 'S2 ATG SPECIAL' if that is ok....?

Just too much of a mouthful....

ok so I am looking at getting the first sample version within a month....... we are looking at getting the ATG logo on the dial made in Red Lume? Good idea....

I am also quite keen that the watch comes on a new kind of 'Aviator' strap.... along the lines of the 3 piece 'Bund' strap..... almost a cuff type..... a real homage to those early aviator watches...... seeing as I see the S2 as a 'real' aircraft timepiece with 'real' lineage and DNA linked through the dial to may, many aircraft instrument panels I have seen and will show you.........

I have started discussions with the company who I'd like to make the strap.... so will keep you posted.... I will be opening a new Forum for the S2 ATG so I can put all the details there and everyone can comment and see what they think..?

Anyway here are some great shots of the S2 and the strap ideas...... I am still looking at maybe black hands but I really like the hands on this watch... they really jump out but see what you think...

Here are the S2 pictures I took some years ago and started me thinking about this project......

Taking a design cue from the aircraft clocks (and the EP 120), surely we should have white hands?

Also, assume the crown will be black too?

Regards

Jon'.

Will the date wheel(s) be white? Or is there any scope to change?

The highlight / accent colour on some gauges and clocks was red. Would red on black look any good?**

**It'd also match the ATG logo...

And I was wondering whether it is possible to replace the Chronometer script on the dial with the ATG logo, so that the T is the 6 marker, as it were. Otherwise the ATG will perhaps look a little odd pushed somewhere else. The date at 6 is clearly there to assist the symmetry of the dial, so can we work with it as well, and keep all script on the centre-line?

Kind of like the red dot at 6 on the Elgin clock (well, it is at 12 actually, as it is a 24-hr dial, but you know what I mean).

The "Automatic Chronometer" script could actually be left there, but blacked out, like the manufacturer name is blacked out on the Hellcat clock and the group of four.

Whaddya think

I think that maybe the date would look good in black... the brand will have to stay.... hands could be 'white' or 'black' and the red from the ATG logo will add to that.... and we are looking at the ATG logo in red lume if we can.... and I've always thought the offset red '3H' logo on mil Porsche watches was very cool.... no?

Looks great Al, is there any scope to swap out the white for the cream colour used on the P51 and could we swap the minutes and hours round a la the type B B-Uhr (not to be an english Type B but due to the hour and minute hands touching the wrong ones, plus that would be more useful for easy reference in the cockpit)?

Oh, could we also have the push-down crown as well?

Definitely black date dials are a must. And if it can sport muted yellow numbers/letters that match the yellow markers on the dial, the watch would be especially nice and all the more unique. I would also vote for darker hands.

I"m okay with the red ATG logo on the front, but how about an engraved logo on the back or possibly on the rotor?

And what about the case barrel? Instead of black PVD, how about dark titanium or simply darkly brushed steel. It would still be muted, matching the DLC case, but provide that fantastic case contrast unique to Bremont, and would further add to the uniqueness of the piece.

Finally, while an aviator strap would be essential for this piece (I much prefer leather), I would love to have a DLC bracelet option, (which can be included in the package?), akin to the Descent.
