Default 2 Bremontnistas Meet Up in Dover, Delaware

Hi All,

I know Friday garners a lot of attention as the prelude to weekend watch wearing, but today was a awesome Monday. I had the great fortune of meeting up with the ever optimistic and eternally patient TexZan. Returning home with family from the beaches of Delaware afforded a chance encounter that proved the military is truly a small world. Came to find out, one of TexZan's pilot training classmates was a former navigator in the same unit I am retiring from. Even though it was a short visit, we had a great conversation on watches and our military backgrounds. Everybody here, please focus your synergy on TexZan uniting with his beloved and elusive Bremont C-17 Globemaster. As you can see from the photos, the poor chap has resorted to wearing a paper mockup.

Also, amazing what one finds out in such conversations. I came to realize I was in the presence of a true Renaissance Man. Alistair, if you take him up on his offer of a flight, please ask him to perform with his clarinet. First person I ever came across who not only flies jets, but was a member of a U.S. Air Force band. Outstanding! And TexZan, many congrats on your new baby boy! Now you have an excuse to buy future watches The wife will understand TexZan, if we meet again, I look forward to seeing that Globemaster proudly sitting atop your wrist. Again, it was a treat meeting a fellow Bremontnista and Air Force trash hauler! Stay well, my friend.

Regards,

Jerry

Man, for a second there I thought TexZan finally got his watch! I'm fairly new to this forum and even I know how much he's pining for the Globemaster

And, yes, an addition to a family (congratulations!) totally calls for another watch! Buying watches just-because is nice, but when it's connected to a special occasion, accomplishment or a milestone, it makes it so much better (at least, for me since I'm not flipping watches constantly).

Default Classic post...

...that paper C-17 looks almost as good as the real thing!

Could be worse, I suppose, you could be wearing your Bremont C-17 back-to-front like Giles decided to do with his P-51 last month...

Default Great meeting you!

Thanks, I didn't expect the accolades, but I do appreciate them. Oh yeah...and don't brag about my clarinet playing until you hear it...you might change your mind :-)

I can't take credit for the idea of printing out a picture, that was on Whiz (but it was a great idea). He's got a great family of his own that was along with him...and a very tolerant wife that allows him to buy multiple Bremonts! She warned me of his obsession but it might be too late for me...I've been bitten by the bug.

Also, many thanks on the congrats for my son from all of you. He's not the first kid, but he is the first boy (and also part of the reason I'm getting the Globemaster - he was the bargaining chip with MY wife). The oldest just started Kingergarten today. Mom had a rough morning...

Sorry for the blues in the picture...it was Monday so no flight suit unless I'm flying. At least I was awake for this picture which is more than I can say for others...

Jees--I was at Dover and tried to meet up with TexZan and he couldn't find the time. I don't think the Bremont C17 Globemaster bug had bit him yet though, so I will let it go this time!

It's nothing personal but you know that fighter jocks and heavies don't get along quite right... :-)
You're right, though, the bug hadn't bit me yet. I was also dealing with a new baby if I remember right so cut me some slack!!
I saw your reply to Catherine regarding the picture of the face with a couple of hands on it. It's looking good!
