Nice, but a bit highly polished for a military piece.

I think René already explained that he had it polished, yes? I think it looks great!
![]() The Mk III might very well be the boldest of all the Orfina military versions. I love the 12 o'clock triangle and the five-increment chapter ring. Normally I do not like numbered hour markers, but on this version they seem to work. I can understand why you prize it so highly! |

There really is a lot to like about this, things that are not seen in many 5100 chronos.
The IWC Fliegerchrono-inspired design really works for me. Round case with brushed and polished facets Lume triangle at 12 (which really works positioned in and whilst maintaining the 24-hr dial) Square markers on the other quarters. The already-mentioned 5-minute markers on the chapter ring, which clear up the dial Numerated hour indices I really like it. Personally, pump pushers would be a preference over screwed ones (which annoy me). Are these pushers genuine screw-downs, or are they dummy ones? And perhaps a different hour and minute hand, the simple pd sticks look a little plain on the dial. We've not seen one on this forum before, so thanks for showing it. Wear it well Dave

I like it, Rene.
Although the polish and the military theme don't mix, the end result is a lovely "dressier" 5100. Enjoy it. And those Firemasters are very cool!

Now this one is super - I've not really been too keen on highly polished watches but in its context this is very nice indeed - very clear and business like whilst also being very smart.
I think the hands are a bit thin, but on the other hand that's probably because I'm used to thicker - I prefer the minute chrono hand to the Fire Master 'round' type and again, when you see it in context I think it's very smart indeed. The 12-3-6-9 markings work well together and as Dave & Danomar say, the 5 highlighted/minute marked chapter ring is very crisp. All these things come together to make it very legible and certainly of its own style. Thanks again. |

Thanks at all for replays. Original was the case finish more dull, unfortunately I made at that time newly there from no photo from
the case „ring" was only the over part polished as I remember. The screw down pusher are not dummy ones, they are only to use if you first unscrew. It was first once in the service since 1999, a good toolwatch

The more I look at your watch, and the more I like it.
