Default Lemania Group Shot

Recent discussion about different cases for the 1340/1 got me to thinking, and while waiting for the espresso machine to heat up this morning, took advantage of some brief sunlight:

The middle Tissot with Lemania 1870 is a recent trade for my similar three-register Tissot with 1873:

Some might think I traded down, but I prefer the simpler two-register design. I especially like the way it works with my vintage Kresiler Stellux bracelet, made specifically for this case.

Other past Lemanias include:

I still want a Lemania-branded chronograph, but the array of quality watches supplied with Lemania movements is a proud legacy indeed.

Hmmm, nice group.

It's interesting that despite us both having a collection including a reasonable number of Lemania-powered watches, you have none of the models that I possess, or even did possess in the past.

Our only common watch is the PVD PD, but we've both sold our examples....

That TV-dial Speedmaster with the cotrast dial is really attractive, it looks better in your shot than I have seen in many other photos - well done.

Dave

Lovely collection you've got there, thanks for posting .

My favourite is the cream dialled L1341 Croton (or at least that's what I think it is). I love the slightly simpler configuration of these and I need to add some more cream dials to my collection. Although I do have something incoming, not a Lemania though (sorry Dave).

Any chance of some more pics of this one please and apologies if you've posted some before and I've missed them. I'm fast developing a gold fish like memory.

Cheers,
Gary

Indeed. That is why I posted the photo. The more I thought about all the different iterations of quality watches with Lemania movements, the more I realized there are many very nicely done Lemania-powered designs. It does give one moment to pause why both of us unloaded our Orfina PD's...

The dial is Omega's only available replacement. It is what I got when the service was complete. It is a striking dial but not what I expected nor want. I am still searching for a suitable original replacement, but that is another story in itself.

It is in fact a 1340, and the dial is white, almost silver in its sheen but more white than silver.

Ask and ye shall receive a link: http://tinyurl.com/y4tvrul

I included photos from the original seller before the service. If the watch appears slightly yellow in the original seller's photos, it is because it actually did look yellowed. It was well-maintained in its past but clearly had been left unused for many years. I got it with the original box and instructions booklet.

Wow, this must be a pretty rare catch

Great stuff, well done.

Didn't know that about the replacement dials, very ineresting (and frustrating if you want an original).

D

PS I still have a PD (in fact two), just not a PVD one.

Thank you, that's one lovely watch. Would it be rude to ask who did the renovation work?

With regards to the 176.0014 getting an original dial will be pretty difficult but perversely I prefer the service replacement.
If I see anything on my web travels I'll let you know.

Cheers,
Gary

Not at all, it was done by Theo, my local watch repairer. He does very good work and enjoys a challenge, but I think my 1340's have stretched his enthusiasm.

I agree that the replacement dial is attractive, but I got the watch with the original dial shape in mind. Note that the Omega replacement dial has a round scale around the edge, not square-ish like the original. I like the original design more, it goes with the case better.

Many thanks. Anyone who could find an original replacement dial would earn a place in my heart and a little extra cash!

Remembered this thread from a while back, excuse the pics, I'm definitely a 'all the gear, no idea' sort of photographer!!

Aaah, the good years...

Many of these are gone now, and I'm doing my very best to stop the bleeding. Time to get moving learning a new language.

I think I will miss every single one of them to an extent or another, but the ones I really love are still with me for now!
