Default A Lemania Forum - Introduction

My name's Dave and I am a Lemaniac. There, I said it.

Our host, Al, has asked me to think of an interesting place to add onto the ATG forums, and a Lemania forum seemed the obvious choice, to me at least.
It is my sphere of collecting (and forms the bulk of what little horological knowledge I have gained), so I hope I can provide some interest.

There isn't one elsewhere I am aware of, and it is a field of horology with breadth and depth, ripe for exploration in its own right.

So, A Lemania Forum it is.

And what is that?

Here's the way I see it.
You're all welcome to post what you like, but the ATG forums are bursting with interesting watch-related stuff, so this place is a sub-forum dedicated to a revered, and now sadly defunct, maker of watches and movements.

Over their long and illustrious history, they produced some amazing watches and movements. We'd like to feature all of them, which may be a tall order, so let's settle on as many as we can find.
  • Their military pieces, whether chronograph or not
  • Civil and dress watches
  • Their clocks, for Aircraft, and other purposes
  • Their dive watches
  • Their chronographs and stopwatches
  • Their alarm watches
  • Watches made using their movements, which include many of the major names, and dozens of smaller ones.
  • Anything else you feel appropriate.
Reviews, information, links to other resources and posts, queries. It's all fair game.
I hope to gradually populate the site with some interesting material that I have learnt or collected over my few years as a Lemaniac. I hope you'll comment, and contribute in kind.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Please note
You will have to be a memeber to post, so sign up. When doing so, please note there is a gallery made available to all members, so please store your watch pics there, and link them into your posts. It makes it easier for you, it saves effort on the ATG servers, and means the links don't become defunct, so everyone benefits.
I do not intend to moderate anything at all from this forum other than blatant spam, trolling or downright offensiveness (which I reserve the right to define). Forums are always better with spirited debate, so bring it on.
Welcome

Dave
