Default This or that? - IWC 3719 vs Sinn 757 UTC

Ok, the WIS illness is taking hold. Now I have the IWC 3548, I'm smitten. Looking around, the 3719 appears underpriced at £2195 even on Blowers, and I'm now considering getting a 3719-03 (Titanium model). However, for that to happen I'd need to sell something; neither the Alt1-P or MB2 are going and the Gen1 won't go simply because it has provinence. That only leaves the Sinn 757 UTC, which I consider the perfect pilots chrono.

So, what's the thoughts of the collective in two areas:

1 - Do you consider the current used price of the 3719 to be too low, and therefore advisable to buy now?

2 - Would you swap the 757 UTC with its Chaux-De-Faunds (excuse spelling) modded movement for the 3719?

Over to you!

Enough to swap a 757 for it? Also, do you think it's underpriced at the moment?

Seems like good value to me. Show me another dive chrono with internal bezel in the same ballpark... I mean, there's a similar new model that's just been released by ML - the Pontos S Chrono. But that's c3k. And it's not as cool as the 3719.

I've just re-read your post.

A couple of things strike me - your "keepers" almost make the Sinn 757 UTC redundent; regardless of its pure, unadulterated looks and superb pedigree (please see Al / StampeSV4's classic post for a rather elegant illustration of this point).
Interestingly, it will also mean that almost all of your watches will have internal bezels (except the Gen1).

Looking again at the 3719-03, I'm surprised that it's available at that price, and it does seem like a steal. In the world of secondhand IWCs, I suppose that puts it at about the same price as the 3568 (AT 2000) or even the 3536, although I think you know my feelings about those. So yes, it does look like good value. However, in terms of whether it's undervalued - or likely to increase, I'm not sure. I'd say it was a proper dive watch, and therefore under the radar for many (120m seems paltry compared to the 2000m version, for example, so I could see this version getting passed over by many). Is it a classic? Probably. Possibly. Who knows?

Thanks Mat, that confirms my thinking. The thing about the depth rating for the AT chronos is that is the depth they can go to, exactly the same as Bremonts. There's a NOS 371918 on Chrono24 for £2799 which I think is fair but from the current S/H values at Blowrs being around £2195, I reckon that circa £1895 for a private sale should be possible. On a Velcro it should be a great sports watch!

I sold my 3719 for £1,900 in May 2010

It had increased in value whilst I owned it.

The 757 is one of the few watches I had to replace having sold my first one & I'm not going to make that mistake again.
