According to the Ski Tracks App, I was pootling along at c45mph when I hit the freeze point, found myself in some sludgey, gritty stuff, and face-planted into the snow. All a bit painful. Got roadrash all down the left side of my face. Hey ho. Must have been a good'un, as the helmet cracked... M

Not that I get to do enough skiing - a week or maybe a bit more each winter here.
45mph face-plant? Not bad. I was skiing last winter down under with a mate, he had the Ski Tracks app. We cracked 85kmh (52 mph) which was plenty fast enough. Friend of ours came unstuck at 103kmh, without helmet - luckily he just got a concussion and didn't hit anything solid. He now wears his helmet, after an edict from the wife!! Here's mine
