Default Need a drink?

A little air refueling practice today. No, I wasn't at the stick during this contact, I was in the back. I wouldn't take pictures while in this close proximity with another jet. Below the AR is a great view of another C-17 on approach to land. You don't get a birdseye view of a landing too often. Sorry for the quality, they're from my phone through a dirty window with turbulence...

By the way, this was taken at Altus AFB, OK (KLTS on the watch). I'm here for some training. Those are KC-135s in the background...air refueling tankers.

Default Great stuff...

Those Stratotankers are very cool indeed.

Have any of the KC-X / KC-46A (B767 derivatives, IIRC) tankers been rolled out yet?

A few answers:
Noodle, nope, they're not around yet. In fact, I prefer the KC-135 to the newer KC-10 just because of the size of our jet. It's 1000x easier to get gas from the 135...

Alistair, I've gotten ten total, but only five since getting the watch. Unfortunately I have a decent amount of stateside training over the coming months so I don't know how many more I'll get in the near future.
